This one got ugly. I guess I really wasn’t in the mood today. The down side of starting this blog is I suddenly feel the need to talk with people I clearly know are scamming me. They have no interest in me as a person, in fact as this conversation went on, it was clear that they had absolute distain for me. They think that being nice is a weakness and wanting to do a good deed is a vulnerability to be exploited. This one in not terribly humorous aside from the silly address I gave her. The phone number, before you call it is to the San Mateo California police department.

I'm also getting the notion that they are trying to use the addresses for phishing. She came back and said she couldn't verify the address with the USPS site, but it was clear from our conversation she couldn't tell a zip code from an area code as she gave me a totally wrong zip code for Santa Barbara.

The other thing that really bothered me about this dialog was the sense of entitlement this person had and the rationalization that what they were doing was okay. It makes me sad for the future of Africa to think that so many people there feel that it’s alright to steal. I only wish that an equal amount of energy was put into honest persuits.
